On December 5, Foreign Trade Corporation convened a full industrial chain development seminar for its metal and mineral sector. Li Juqiang, Chairman and General Manager of the company, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, while Zhang Qiang, Deputy General Manager, presided over the event.
Zhang Qiang introduced the current status of industry development, the company's position in the industry, ongoing changes in the sector, and future plans for full industrial chain layout, based on earlier research trips with business teams to Tianjin, Hebei, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, and other regions.
In the subsequent group discussion session, three groups engaged in discussions around various aspects of the company's full industrial chain development layout in the metal sector. Everyone offered suggestions, strategies, ideas, and measures based on their respective work experiences. The discussions generated thought-provoking ideas and consensus on development.
During the afternoon's reporting session on the outcomes of the seminar, each group sent a representative to present their findings.
Li Juqiang fully recognized the achievements of the seminar and emphasized in his concluding speech that industrialization, internationalization, green development, and digitization are the strategic orientations for the company's full industrial chain layout in the metal and mineral sector. The company must carefully plan its development strategy, maintain existing businesses, expand new ones, and fully focus on production and operation. He stressed that since its establishment, the company has been committed to expanding its metal and mineral business and possesses a stable foundation in this area. The metal and mineral sector is the cornerstone of the company's development. Firstly, it must play a exemplary role as a ‘pacesetter’in business development, reform and innovation, and executing the company's strategic plan. Secondly, all employees must unite and maintain their beliefs, firmly seize development opportunities, strictly implement the assessment system, strengthen the application of assessment results, establish a merit-based mechanism for survival of the fittest, and stimulate the vitality of entrepreneurship. Thirdly, the company must actively benchmark and clarify business development directions, conducting benchmarking activities from multiple dimensions, levels, and perspectives, such as individual, department, and overall company development, to further understand the current situation and address weaknesses. Fourthly, it is crucial to strengthen information exchange and regularly conduct communication activities to obtain valuable information through interaction and form a joint force for development.
More than 40 people attended the meeting, including personnel from the company's Metal Minerals Department, Alloy Minerals Department, Tianjin Office, Commerce Department, personnels from Jiangsu Overseas Corporation (SA) stationed in Nanjing, and heads of various comprehensive departments.
