When Russian Liquor turned for home, we all thought for that moment we were going to win in front of 44,907 people.  He ran well and tried hard, but in the end a fifth place finish was the best he could do.  Tough game, but we move on.  However, it is worth mentioning that we made a great showing in the paddock for our race.  Our group alone took up about 20% of the entire walking ring and when Russian Liquor and Aaron Gryder left us to head to the track, the loud send off we gave them turned quite a few heads.  In case you didn't read it, Russian Liquor was claimed by Jack Carava.  Perhaps he was getting a little revenge since we claimed Bestdressed from him.

Speaking of Bestdressed . . . he will race on Saturday.  He is in the 9^th race and will be ridden by hall-of-fame jockey Mike Smith.  Please try to make it - we like his chances.  Also, because Bestdressed was bred in California, we are eligible for Cal-bred bonus purse money, which effectively takes the purse that we are running for to $74,100.  That makes this race a mini stakes race for us from a financial standpoint.
